Arrive Winnipeg

Arrive at the Winnipeg airport and check-into Four Points by Sheraton hotel which is just across the street from the Winnipeg airport. After having dinner (on own) in the hotel restaurant, meet your guide and group for a brief orientation. Overnight at Winnipeg hotel.

Winnipeg to Churchill (B, L, D)

After a very early breakfast, board the bus for a short ride to the private hangar from where the plane will depart for the 2-hour flight to Churchill. Upon arrival, head straight out on a Churchill Town and Area Tour and visit areas surrounding the town of Churchill, including historical Cape Merry, Port of Churchill, the site of a crashed airplane affectionately known as Miss Piggy and Manitoba Conservation’s Polar Bear Holding Facility (weather permitting). Lunch would be a home cooked meal at one of Churchill’s family run restaurant. After lunch we stop at the Parks Canada Visitors Centre. Here, we see in-depth display that reveals the remarkable history of Churchill through wildlife dioramas and exhibits that portray the history of the fur trade in the area. Then head out to the hotel for the dinner. Overnight at Churchill hotel..

Churchill (B, L, D)

After breakfast the group will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the Tundra Buggy Dock for boarding the Tundra Buggy. Hit the trails and travel into the Churchill Wildlife Management Area in search of polar bears and other artic wildlife and the interpretive guide will point out the interesting facts about the area’s geology and history. Enjoy a picnic style lunch right on the Tundra Buggy. Return to the town for a warm dinner and relaxing evening. Our final activity of the day is a cultural presentation by a local trapper who shares his way of life in the north through the four distinct and beautiful seasons of Churchill. Overnight at Churchill hotel.

Churchill (B, L, D)

Our second day in Churchill is all about northern culture. first excursion of the day is a Dog Sledding program led by a local dog musher. He explains the basics and the importance of Dog Sledding to the northern communities before taking a mile long ride through the boreal forest. Then proceed back to the town for lunch. Later visit the Eskimo (Itsanitaq) Museum which houses one of Canada’s finest collections of Inuit carvings, kayaks and artefacts dating from pre- Dorset, Dorset, Thule, and modern Inuit times. Overnight at Churchill hotel.

Churchill to Winnipeg (B, L, D)

After breakfast, today is the final treat of the Tundra Buggy adventure. Again, the group will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the dock for boarding the Tundra Buggy. Another great day on the Tundra, full of extraordinary wildlife and many chances to get great photos. Enjoy a picnic style lunch right on the Tundra Buggy. In the evening, enjoy another delicious meal in Churchill. Transfer back to the Churchill airport for the return flight to Winnipeg. Upon arrival, check back into Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Winnipeg.

Depart Winnipeg

It’s the final morning in Winnipeg. Check out of the hotel and depart for Winnipeg airport.
